Sites by Mel — Effective for all orders placed on sitesbymel.com
This agreement is between Sites by Mel ("Mel", "we", "us") and you, the customer ("you", "client"), and applies to all website design services purchased at sitesbymel.com. By submitting your intake form, you confirm you have read and agree to these terms.
Each purchase covers one (1) personalized, 5-page HTML website built from a Sites by Mel template. The five pages are: Home, About, Services (or equivalent), Gallery/Portfolio, and Contact. The finished website files are delivered as a downloadable ZIP package.
Work included in your purchase:
Work not included unless you purchased a specific add-on: domain registration, DNS configuration, email setup, hosting, copywriting, or custom design changes outside the template structure.
To complete your website, Mel needs accurate information from you. By submitting the intake form, you confirm:
If you checked "Let Mel Handle This" on any field or photo slot, you are authorizing Mel to write copy or select stock photography on your behalf. You agree to review this content at delivery and understand that AI-assisted writing may be used.
Your purchase includes one (1) round of revisions — meaning one set of changes submitted together after delivery. Revisions are limited to corrections of submitted information (a typo in your phone number, a wrong service name, etc.) and minor text edits.
Revisions do not include: redesigning the template layout, changing the template to a different niche, adding pages, or rebuilding sections. Those requests are quoted separately. Additional revision rounds beyond the first are $25 each.
Mel aims to deliver your completed website within 48 hours of receiving your completed intake form during normal business hours (Monday–Friday). Complex orders, missing information, or high order volume may extend this timeline. You will receive an email at delivery with your download link.
Your download link is valid for 48 hours from delivery. If your link expires before you download, contact [email protected] and a new link will be provided within one business day.
Unless you purchased the Domain Setup ($499) or Template Launch ($797) package, your purchase does not include a domain name or web hosting. You are responsible for purchasing your own domain (typically $10–$15/year from registrars like Namecheap or GoDaddy) and choosing a hosting provider.
Your completed ZIP file can be deployed to free hosting platforms such as Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop) at no cost. Mel is happy to answer basic questions about hosting via email but is not responsible for hosting setup under the Template Package.
Upon full payment and delivery, you own your finished website files — the HTML, CSS, and any content you provided. You may host, edit, and distribute them freely. No monthly license or platform fee is required to use your files.
Mel retains ownership of the underlying template design and structure. This means Mel may continue selling the same base template to other customers. Your ownership covers the personalized version with your specific content — not the template framework itself.
Stock photos selected by Mel on your behalf are licensed for web use under the Unsplash License (unsplash.com/license). You may use them on your website but may not resell the photos as standalone assets.
Because website work begins immediately after your intake form is submitted, refunds are not available once work has started.
If you contact Mel before submitting your intake form, a full refund will be issued. If Mel is unable to complete your order due to circumstances on our end, a full refund will be issued. If your delivered website has errors caused by our mistake (not by information you provided incorrectly), Mel will correct them at no charge.

Sites by Mel is not liable for any lost revenue, missed opportunities, or business losses arising from delays in delivery, errors in the delivered website, or your inability to launch your site on time. Our total liability in any dispute is limited to the amount you paid for your order.
Mel is not responsible for third-party services including domain registrars, hosting providers, Stripe, Netlify, or email providers.
