The Founder

Hi, I’m Maya. I Started This Shop Because I Couldn’t Find It.

I spent years walking through boutiques looking for the kind of shop that felt curated rather than cluttered — beautiful things with intention behind each one. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, so in 2019 I opened Violet&Co.

I started with a pop-up, 24 items, and a folding table. Within six months I had a permanent location and a waiting list for our seasonal drops. Every piece in the shop still passes my personal test: would I wear it? Give it? Display it? If not, it doesn’t earn a spot.

Today, Violet&Co. carries clothing, jewelry, accessories, and gifts from over 30 independent makers and small-batch brands. We’re proudly indie — no investors, no algorithm, just taste.

How We Source

Behind Every Item Is a Real Story

We source from over 30 independent makers and small-batch brands. Every brand we carry is someone we’ve spoken to directly — often someone we’ve visited at their studio or met at a market.

We do not buy from mass wholesalers or direct-from-manufacturer imports. If we can’t tell you who made it, we don’t sell it.

We also host maker meet-ups twice a year at the shop — a chance for our customers to meet the people behind the products they love.

Our Journey

From Pop-Up to Beloved Shop

2019

The First Pop-Up

Started with a folding table and 24 items at the Midtown Makers Market. Sold out in 3 hours. Knew it was time to go bigger.

2020

Opened the Brick-and-Mortar

Signed a lease on our first shop. It was tiny, beautiful, and ours. Opened during one of the strangest years in history — and people still showed up.

2021

Launched Online Shopping

Took the shop online so customers across the country could find us. Fulfilled every order from the back room personally for the first six months.

2023

Expanded the Space

Moved to a larger location, added a private shopping room, and launched our seasonal maker partnership program.
